Urgent Action Needed to Preserve the Freedom Rides Museum

Dear Members and Supporters,

We need your voice to help preserve the Freedom Rides Museum in Montgomery, Alabama—a site that stands as a powerful testament to the bravery of the Freedom Riders and a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement. The museum, housed in the historic Greyhound bus station where Freedom Riders were attacked in 1961, is at risk of being sold by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

As an advocacy organization committed to preserving African American history, AAAM is mobilizing efforts to protect this landmark, but we need your support.

How You Can Take Action to Support Our Member Site

  • Lend Your Support to AAAM's Advocacy Letter: Click the button below to sign our letter of support to Congressman Shomari Figures and Congresswoman Terri Sewell.
  • Amplify Awareness: Share AAAM’s social media posting to highlight the urgency of the issue and garner support from your family and friends.
  • Support the Museum: Visit the Freedom Rides Museum to show its continued importance.

Together, we can ensure that this historic site remains protected. Stay tuned for updates, and thank you for being part of this important effort!

Sincerely,

The AAAM Team
